"The grand jury didn't hesitate for long when faced with this cuvée made from organically grown Cabernets. Sixty-year-old vines rooted in clay-limestone soil yielded a perfectly ripe harvest. In the cellar, vinification favored extraction, while barrel ageing brought out vanilla aromas and fatness. Purple with ruby highlights, the wine releases a wide range of aromas, from red fruits to woody notes. Powerful and balanced on the palate. A fine reference for the appellation". Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domain rated 1*Star (A serious, commendable production, in keeping with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
The result of a long family history, Domaine Bruneau-Dupuy is now run by Sylvain. Since 2012, the vineyard has been in organic conversion. The estate covers an area of 20 hectares, protected by forest to the north. Half of the vineyard is located on south-facing slopes, covered with old vines planted on clay-limestone soils. The wines produced from these vines are full-bodied and long on the palate. The other half of the vineyard is planted in sandy soils, producing lighter, fruitier wines to be enjoyed young. At less than 15 euros, the wines offer good value for money.

Wine still dominated by wood, impossible to perceive the aromas.the wine is light, what's the point of putting it in cask? Perhaps we should wait a little. I still have reservations about the interest and potential of this cuvée. in a word, I'm disappointed with this St Nicolas.

What lovely juice! It's easy-drinking, well-balanced and very fine. A Cabernet as we like them, to accompany us from aperitif to dessert. Well done!

Without being "remarkable", this Cabernet Franc is nonetheless fruity, acidic and light. Pleasant woodiness and good persistence. Nice with roast filet mignon. Score 12-13/20, given the quality of this cuvée and its reasonable price.

I preferred the 2016. This one seems more ordinary to me.
