Domaine la Bastide Blanche
La Bastide Blanche is an AOC Bandol estate in Sainte Anne du Castellet, Provence. TheBastide Blanche estate lies in an amphitheater of hills dotted with Mediterranean species, and enjoys one of the sunniest climates in France. Facing south-east, sheltered by the imposing Sainte Baume massif, it enjoys double protection from the winds.

The 28 hectares of vines of theDomaine de la Bastide Blanche, all classified as AOC Bandol, are located on hillsides. The parcels, laid out in terraces, rest on an arid soil of pebbles and gravel, predominantly clay-limestone dating from the Upper Cretaceous period.

Since 1972, Louis and Michel Bronzo have been making Bandol's powerful red wines from Mourvèdre, the appellation's signature grape variety. Grenache and Cinsault round out the plantings for red and rosé wines, while Clairette, Ugni blanc, Sauvignon and Bourboulenc are used to blend the white wines ofDomaine de la Bastide Blanche.

"One of the best value for money in the appellation!

A classic Bandol rosé with a varied aromatic bouquet of citron, Sichuan pepper, dried apricot and a hint of peony. Perfectly balanced, full-bodied with a delicate, mineral finish.

"A southern white with a refreshing finish of fennel and white peach.

Its aromatic palette features notes of white peach and fennel. La Bastide Blanche's white wine is generous on the palate, with a dense body and fine bitters. Perfect balance!

"A solid foundation for this intense red!

"At this stage, it appears a little severe and ungenerous, despite ample ripe notes of black cherries and dark chocolate. It is full-bodied and finishes with a good dose of dusty tannins." (Wine Advocate 2023)

Produced in limited quantities, Cuvée Fontanéou is made from plots of Mourvèdre located in the commune of La Cadière d'Azur and characterized by a red clay terroir completely different from the Bastide Blanche terroir. It has a deep violet color and opens with notes of clove, blue flowers and a very elegant empyreumatic touch. A pleasure cuvée par excellence!

"A very complete, vigorous Bandol with superb substance, powerful and rich..." (RVF - Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2010). Cuvée Estagnol de la Bastide Blanche is made from the estate's oldest plots of Mourvèdre and Grenache (40 and 65 years old), where yields are low (25 hl/ha). It differs from other wines in that over-ripeness is sought by delaying harvesting as much as possible. It develops a characteristic nose with notes of cooked black fruit and fig. A complete wine...
