In white, L'Instant shines with both liveliness and freshness, particularly enjoyable in the summer months. Made from organically grown grapes, like all of the estate's wines, it expresses aromas of grapefruit, pear, and pineapple. A common thread throughout the estate, its finesse is worth highlighting. Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
This family estate, located in two appellations, Cassis and Côtes de Provence, is now run by the very friendly and dynamic couple Sophie and Didier Simonini-Cerciello. On their 32 hectares of vineyards, including 7 hectares in Cassis known as Clos Val Bruyère, they practice exemplary viticulture, certified biodynamic since 2018. As a result, the vines and soil are thriving and the surrounding area is bursting with biodiversity, even for an organic estate. The wines are crisp and well-structured, with the Cassis appellation offering that touch of salinity that characterizes this terroir so well. The Kalahari white cuvée, whose name was inspired by the couple's love for Botswana, is worth the trip: it is one of the estate's most interesting and original wines.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2020 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
Émile Bodin founded Clos Val Bruyère in 1889. A century later, Sophie, his great-granddaughter, and her parents took over the few hectares of vines they had inherited and revived the estate. That same year, they acquired Ch. Barbanau, 23 hectares of vineyards located at the westernmost tip of the Côtes-de-Provence appellation, at an altitude of 360 meters. Today, Sophie and her husband Didier run the château and have been producing Biodyvin-certified biodynamic wines since the 2018 vintage.
