Château des Bormettes
This estate, located on a well-known Provence terroir in La Londe-Les-Maures, extends over 65 hectares of hillside vineyards. Located on the western side of the Maures mountains, it enjoys a micro-climate in the Côtes de Provence appellation. Fabrice Faré has been running this family estate since 1930, and his team of passionate winegrowers has made steady progress over the years.

The vineyards of Château des Bormettes are located 900 meters from the sea, benefiting undeniably from a maritime influence, coupled with the stony terroir of schist and quartz. The wines are unique, with a signature of their own.

The Château des Bormettes vineyard is managed using a sustainable approach, with a variety of grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Rolle/Vermentino, Carignan... The vineyard is undergoing a complete overhaul: massal selection of vines, modernization of cellar equipment, a 6000 hl capacity vat room (2018 production: 2500 hl). All these efforts have paid off, producing wines that are emblematic of this Mediterranean paradise.

Generously fruity, with scents of garrigue, black fruits and pepper, the nose reveals bewitching notes of violet on aeration, the hallmark of this predominantly Syrah blend. Suave and fresh on the attack, this red wine is both intense and crisp, characterized by fine, crisp tannins and a mineral touch, ending on a salivating finish. A true Provencal!

(Notes vintage 2017)

This lovely table white is made from a selection of Rolle grapes from the "La Bergerie" plot, harvested twice in search of perfect ripeness. Its subtle nose expresses hints of pear, acacia flowers and delicate toasted notes. Generous and round, this white is well-balanced with saline notes, and the well-controlled use of wood respects the fruit, adding spicy, toasty notes. A perfect representative of the La Londe terroir!

" A benchmark. A classy, racy red, fresh, taut, expressive, long, endowed with great youth, exhaling black cherry, liquorice, garrigue, saline notes, a very Provencal spirit. Deep, its substance is designed to stand the test of time with suppleness and grace". (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve 2020) Perfect for festive meals!

"With its garnet-red color, this half-Mourvèdre, half-Syrah blend reveals an intense nose of red and black fruits (blackcurrant, Morello cherry) with hints of cocoa. On the palate, there's a superb balance between the freshness of the fruit, the roundness and smoothness of the texture and the melted tannins. The long, complex finish, with spices and a slight salinity, is convincing". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020) A red wine that reveals the undeniable potential of this region, ideal for festive meals!
