Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Located just 900 meters from the sea, this family estate of almost 80 hectares sold all its production in bulk until Yannick Burles took over as technical director in 2012. Most of the production is bottled on the estate, with some fine cuvées emerging and the wines progressing admirably from year to year. The vineyard has been carefully restructured, which augurs well for the future of this rising star of the La Londe appellation, who is now playing a part in the dynamic development of the wines of this commune with its undeniable potential. The current team makes the wines shine.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2020) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Dating back to the 10th century, this vineyard became the property of the Carthusian Fathers of La Verne in 1588. In 1855, Horace Vernet, Napoleon III's official painter, acquired it and added a château. In 1920, it was bought by the Faré family, who still own the property today, and who relaunched bottling at the estate in 2010, entrusting the management of its 65 ha of vines to Julie Barneau and Christophe Deffilippi in 2018.

Note and review by M. CEDRIC L. Published on 12/08/2024
Cotes de Provence, particularly famous for its rosé, deserves to be tasted in both white and red. Here, the rolle is wonderfully mastered, with freshness at the start of the tasting, notes of cedar, and a real length that stretches out over jammy flavors, with the sea in the foreground. It's simple and very good. Perfect with a monkfish tagine with preserved lemons.
