This micro-cuvée, from a plot on high hillsides, is aged for 18 months in new barrels. It's a powerful, enveloping southern red, with black fruit aromas. Perfectly balanced on the palate, it finishes with hints of spice and ripe fruit. It's a wine made for laying down, and needs to be opened a little first to fully discover its full potential.

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 91/100 (Vintage 2019)
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
The limestone scree terroir of this 29-hectare estate is typical of the Palette appellation. The natural amphitheater formed by the surrounding hills protects the vines from the Mistral and creates a favorable microclimate. The voluble Stéphane Spitzglous, a native of the region, applies himself to both vineyard and winery, and it's a pleasure to discover this property on the road between Sainte-Victoire and Aix. In the early days, production was sent to the cooperative, but today he bottles everything on the estate, which is a source of pride for him.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2021) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
In 1996, Stéphane Spitzglous took over the estate from his grandfather Henri Bonnaud. After major construction work to bring together the winery, cellar and cellar, he released his first vintage in 2004 and renamed the estate after his grandfather. The vineyard is located in Tholonet, south-east of Aix-en-Provence, facing Mont Sainte-Victoire, and covers 29 hectares, which have been farmed organically since 2013.
