"From its black color to its full, fleshy palate, this wine is simply impressive". (Bettane & Desseauve - Le Grand Guide des Vins de France 2010). A parcel-based cuvée from the estate,Ebrescade benefits from both the age of its vines and its excellent exposure on the high slopes between Cairanne and Rasteau at an altitude of 240 meters. 2007 is expressive on the nose and palate, with a round, silky style and a spicy finish.

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
Some winegrowers alone can evoke an entire appellation, and the charismatic Marcel Richaud is one of them. He was undoubtedly instrumental in establishing the credentials of the latest Côtes du Rhône Sud growth. A visionary and pioneer of parcel-by-parcel growing, he still dreams of a Burgundy climat-type classification, and with 45 vintages under his belt, he is as hands-off as possible in the cellar and in the vineyard. Like a certain Emmanuel Reynaud, he accompanies his grapes to optimum ripeness, producing wines that are both gourmand and elegant, a real signature. All the wines tasted this year are highly commendable and remarkably consistent. The younger generation who joined the family business a few years ago are determined to perpetuate the house's know-how, but as if to mark a turning point, Claire and Thomas have acquired 20 additional hectares, half of which adjoin the famous Ebrescades plot, auguring some nice surprises to come. Most recently, Edith, the youngest daughter, has given in to the call of the sirens and above all of the vines; after a brilliant Parisian career in the luxury sector, she has finally settled in the charming little village of Cairanne, bringing an additional major asset to the beautiful Richaud tribe.

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning connoisseurs).
About the domain :
There are very few winemakers in France as demanding and complete, from vine to cellar, as Marcel Richaud. He has reached the pinnacle of his art now that he has a winery and ageing facility to match his ambitions. For the wine lover, this producer's work is a blessing. His entire range reaches a remarkable level and is immediately seductive. Year after year, the wines gain in finesse and precision, while respecting their southern balance and maturity.
