"Powerful yet delicately charming, this wine presents seductive aromas of black plum, black currant, violet, white mushroom and fresh earth, which merge into a complex bouquet with an abundance of violets. Well-integrated tannins support a palate of pure blackberry, black cherry, dried herbs, baked earth and oak spices. The finish is long and refined. Cellar until 2035+ to reveal its full depth." (Wine Enthusiast 2024). A magnificent entry into the world of wine.

Cornas
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Laure Colombo, a brilliant young oenologist, joined the family business in Cornas, but decided to set up her own domaine on the heights of Saint-Péray to find her feet. This year, she is offering us a Saint-Péray and a Cornas from her domaine in Lorient. Joining doesn't mean taking over: Jean-Luc is still here, and so the range is built up as a family, between the vineyards of the Côte Bleue and those of the Rhône, and of course sourcing activities, sometimes under the Colombo & Fille label, sometimes under Jean-Luc Colombo. Cornas are still the great wines here, and the modern, rational winery is built at the foot of the hill! In 2017, the delicious vallon-de-l'aigle will be rationed, with only two barrels produced!

About the wine:
Nose of blackberries, black cherries, black olives, warm earth, dried herbs and peppercorns. Medium- to full-bodied, with chewy tannins. Chalky texture, with a dense core of dark berries and spices in the center and a concentrated, firm finish with a touch of pepper.

This cornas, with its deep red color and purplish highlights, reveals aromas of fairly ripe black fruits - blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry - mingling with notes of licorice, cocoa and spices. This is a spicy, opulent wine with beautiful, powerful yet mellow tannins and good length.
