Château d'Or et de Gueules
Château d'Or et de Gueules was created in 1998. It takes its original name from the family coat of arms of Diane de Puymorin, whose colors reflect the personality of the wines produced here: Gold for fullness, solar richness and warmth, and Red (Gueules in old French) for character, power and easy drinking. Château d'Or and Gueules wines have their own signature. In all three colors, they are personalized, full-bodied, subtle and promising. Having converted to organic farming in 2012, Château d'Or et de Gueules ' vineyard is now managed organically, and has been in the process of converting to Biodynamic farming since 2017.
Situated at the gateway to the Camargue on the Cassagnes road between St Gilles and Générac (see map), on the southern slopes of the Costières de Nîmes, the Château d'Or et de Gueules vineyard enjoys an ideal South-South/East exposure and a terroir of rounded pebbles. The estate covers 50 hectares. The reds and rosés are a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Cinsault. The whites are made from Chardonnay, Grenache blanc, Roussanne and Rolle.
