Château d'Or et de Gueules

Château d'Or et de Gueules was founded in 1998. Its original name comes from the family coat of arms of Diane de Puymorin, with its colors reflecting the personality of the wines produced there: gold for their fullness, sunny richness, and warmth, and red (gueules in Old French) for their character, power, and drinkability. The wines of Château d'Or et de Gueules have their own distinctive style. In all three colors, they are personalized, full-bodied, subtle, and promising. With a conversion to organic farming in 2012,Château d'Or et de Gueulesis now a vineyard run according to organic farming methods and has been in the process of converting to biodynamics since 2017. 

Located at the gateway to the Camargue on the Cassagnes road between St Gilles and Générac (see map) on the southern slope of the Costières de Nîmes, the Château d'Or et de Gueules vineyard enjoys ideal south-south/east exposure and a terroir of rounded pebbles. The estate covers an area of 50 hectares. The reds and rosés are made from a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault. The whites are made from Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Rolle.
