"This Mourvèdre from old vines is complemented by 10% Grenache, representing a rich, powerful red. Aged in French oak for 18 months, it's a sumptuous wine with sunny blueberry and mulberry flavors and intoxicating accents of toast, vanilla and coconut. Ripe tannins accentuate its luxurious style. Drink now to 2027." (Wine Enthusiast 2020)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))

About the domain :

Diane de Puymorin settled in 1998 on a terroir of rolled pebbles and sandstone, at the gateway to the Camargue, on the southern slopes of the Costières-de-Nîmes. The family coat of arms, in gold and red (gules in Old French), gives its name to the estate, a 50-hectare vineyard that produces wines of strong personality, playing on power and extraction while retaining fine tannins. Vinification takes place in concrete tanks, followed by barrel or tank ageing, depending on the grape variety. The white cuvées are impressive for their refreshing textures and spontaneity. In the reds, the cuvée les-cimels is the most accessible, fruit-driven, but with a fine concentration of substance. Trassegum and la-bolida are powerful, extracted wines, with more ambitious ageing in wood.

Guide Hachette des vins

Domaine noté (guide 2020) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the domain :

The name of this estate, created in 1998 by Diane de Puymorin, evokes the colors of the family coat of arms, striped gold and red (gules). The vineyard covers 60 ha of organic vineyards, and the conversion to biodynamic viticulture is underway (10 ha already certified). An original feature: music therapy is used in the vineyards. One of the best references in costières-de-nîmes, with the added bonus of keeping old vintages in stock.

Gilbert & Gaillard

Wine rated (2020 guide) 90/100

About the wine:

Dark garnet color. Inviting nose of black fruits (blackberry, blueberry), redcurrant, fine spices, smoke. Delicious, full-bodied attack, suave, full-bodied, virile palate with powerful southern fragrances. Still firm, but already expresses itself brilliantly.
