"A typical profile, a true expression of its garrigue terroir!"
This fruity cuvée has all the hallmarks of a traditional Côtes du Rhône. This charming wine reveals notes of jammy red fruit, black olive and aniseed, reflecting the typicality of the Cairanne Garrigues terroir. The palate is greedy, the fruit expressive, underlined by ample, silky tannins. Structured, fruity and crisp, you'll never tire of it.

Côtes du Rhône
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
Some winegrowers alone can evoke an entire appellation, and the charismatic Marcel Richaud is one of them. He was undoubtedly instrumental in establishing the credentials of the latest Côtes du Rhône Sud growth. A visionary and pioneer of parcel-by-parcel growing, he still dreams of a Burgundy climat-type classification, and with 45 vintages under his belt, he is as hands-off as possible in the cellar and in the vineyard. Like a certain Emmanuel Reynaud, he accompanies his grapes to optimum ripeness, producing wines that are both gourmand and elegant, a real signature. All the wines tasted this year are highly commendable and remarkably consistent. The younger generation who joined the family business a few years ago are determined to perpetuate the house's know-how, but as if to mark a turning point, Claire and Thomas have acquired 20 additional hectares, half of which adjoin the famous Ebrescades plot, auguring some nice surprises to come. Most recently, Edith, the youngest daughter, has given in to the call of the sirens and above all of the vines; after a brilliant Parisian career in the luxury sector, she has finally settled in the charming little village of Cairanne, bringing an additional major asset to the beautiful Richaud tribe.

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning connoisseurs).
About the domain :
There are very few winemakers in France as demanding and complete, from vine to cellar, as Marcel Richaud. He has reached the pinnacle of his art now that he has a winery and ageing facility to match his ambitions. For the wine lover, this producer's work is a blessing. His entire range reaches a remarkable level and is immediately seductive. Year after year, the wines gain in finesse and precision, while respecting their southern balance and maturity.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 16/11/2024
Les Galets has benefited from a very high-quality 2023 vintage, in terms of opulence, density and aromatic richness. Strongly constituted, the wine develops a juiciness that is both dense and very expressive, with flavors of stewed red fruit, mixed licorice and maquis notes, enhanced by a pronounced hint of pepper. The thick, slightly grainy texture is all the more suave and caressing, with ample, silky tannins. A pleasant freshness accompanies the long, spicy finish. As seductive as they come, and already accessible for tasting on the fruit, Les Galets once again delighted the taste buds with roasted duck fillets and balsamic vinegar reduction, accompanied by sautéed pommes grenaille. Score = 4.5.
