"Crozes-Hermitage haute couture!"
"Still at the top of its game, the estate shines once again with this splendid red, crafted from sixty-year-old Syrah vines rooted in kaolin sand. Very intense in color, it delivers a refined nose that is still reserved, with aromas of wild berries and cardamom. Well-structured and enveloping, supported by meticulous aging and framed by beautiful, tight tannins, the palate irresistibly emphasizes spices in a long finish that speaks volumes about its pedigree. Skilful aging and excellent development prospects." (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Philippe Desmeure and his daughter Émilie have successfully developed this family estate, expanding it to 30 hectares of vineyards. The vinification and aging in wood result in wines that are typically smooth on the palate. The estate produces wines of consistent quality in both colors, vintage after vintage. Good 2017.

About the estate:
Until 1973, Alphonse Desmeure brought his harvest to the cooperative. His son Philippe developed the property from 1977 onwards, generalized bottled production, and expanded the vineyard: today it covers 36 hectares, spread across several municipalities. Émilie and Christophe, his children, have joined the estate. An essential reference, with wines of rare consistency.

About wine:
A juicy, concentrated, and well-made red with aromas of black cherries, cocoa, and warm spices on the nose. Medium-bodied with creamy tannins. Ripe and dense, with lots of berries, chocolate, and spices on the palate and a savory, peppery finish. Enjoy now or hold.

About wine:
The Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Christophe 2023 is brilliant, with a pure, classic, and mineral nose, featuring aromas of black fruit, burnt earth, graphite, and hot embers. Aged for 15 months in barrels (70% new), it is medium-bodied and concentrated, with ripe, polished tannins and a beautiful finish. Although it is already very pleasant to drink, it will keep for a good ten years.
