This promising young estate, , offers us a very refined, fresh, and fruity Rasteau, with lovely notes of red fruit on the palate. It has a beautiful structure, in which the tannins express themselves with finesse. Already a hit with 1jour1vin customers, serve it with a slow-cooked meat dish!

Viticulture

Traditional soil cultivation. No use of weed killers. Pesticide use is kept to a minimum and has been organic since 2011. Certified organic fertilizers.

Wine making

Crushed and destemmed grapes. Grenache and Syrah are fermented separately with indigenous yeasts. Fermentation at low temperature, 2 to 4 rackings at the very beginning of fermentation, little pumping over, and post-fermentation maceration at high temperature. Vatting lasts around 30 days. Aged on fine lees, partly in wooden vats and partly in concrete vats.

Livestock farming

12 to 18 months, 50% in truncated cone-shaped wooden vats and 50% in concrete vats.

Mouth

Fresh and fruity, with notes of cherry and strawberry. Beautiful structure with fine, silky tannins. Lovely aromatic persistence with freshness and finesse.

Trained by the brilliant Alain Paret (his Saint-Joseph 420 Nuits is magnificent), Vasco Urruty Perdigao is at the helm of this estate, which boasts some superb terroirs in Sablet, Rasteau, and Vacqueyras. With the help of his wife Sonia, the two form an innovative and passionate winemaking duo. The estate has been moving towards organic farming for several years and has made significant progress in terms of winemaking. This is an estate on the rise! Bravo!
