Cave de Tain
Founded in 1933 by Louis Gambert de Loche, Cave de Tain is located between Valence and Lyon, at the foot of the Hermitage hill. At the heart of the historic Côtes du Rhône septentrionaux vineyards, it now has around 300 members and produces and markets all the appellations of the northern Rhône, making it the leading producer of crus in the northern Rhône Valley.

On the granitic and alluvial soils of both banks of the Rhône, the result of complex geological evolution and a wide variety (granite and morènes), the grape varieties give their best - Syrah for red wines, Marsanne for white wines. In addition to the vines owned by its winegrowers, some of whom have been with the Cave for four generations, the Cave de Tain itself owns vineyards in the Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas and Saint-Péray appellations, as well as 22 ha in the prestigious Hermitage appellation.

In parallel with a long process of mapping terroirs and observing nature, Cave de Tain invests regularly and now has a technical tool worthy of the name. and now boasts technical facilities worthy of the greatest names of France. The result is wines of remarkable quality. Cave de Tain innovates with sulfite-free cuvées, cuvées Organic, sweet wines... And we are proud to offer a range of wines of wines enabling the creation of great cuvées such as the Sélections Parcellaires " Les Hauts du Fief " in Crozes-Hermitage or "Fleur de Roc" in Saint-Péray.

"A white Hermitage with great ageing potential".

"Hermitage Nobles Rives Blanc 2021 is a solid wine, offering plenty of sappy flowers, honeyed minerals and more orange-tinged citrus and fruit. Medium-bodied, balanced and elegant, it should gain weight with a year or two of bottle age." (Jeb Dunnuck 2022)

"An irresistible bottle, and for a long time to come!"

"Once again, the Tain winery has won unanimous praise for its concentrated, elegant Hermitage wines, with perfectly tamed oak. This cuvée immediately won the hearts of tasters with its fiery nose combining candied black berries and roasted scents (cocoa, roasted coffee). The presence of very ripe grapes can also be felt on the concentrated, suave and powerful palate, built on fine, tight tannins, the fruit of skilful ageing in Burgundy barrels of different ages (30% new). The finish is long and fragrant, with notes of plum and sweet spices. A bottle that's already irresistible, and for a long time to come". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022)

"Everything you'd expect from a Cornas and more!

"50-year-old vines and 16 months' ageing in wood have presided over the birth of this confidently balanced, nuanced cuvée, with its open nose of raspberry jelly, violet candy and black pepper, underlined by toasty, caramelized oak notes. A lovely eloquence that continues on the round, concentrated palate, stimulated by a fine mentholated freshness and supported by powerful tannins with an auspicious firmness". "A MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) vintage".

Let yourself be seduced by an exceptional cuvée, the fruit of an exchange between Laurent Derhé, Meilleur Ouvrier de France Sommelier 2007, Gaëtan Bouvier, Meilleur Sommelier de France 2016, and Cave de Tain. An Hermitage with an intense, gourmand nose reminiscent of black fruits, slightly enhanced by notes of warm smoke, noble wood and black pepper. The palate is full-bodied, imposing and well-balanced, characterized by a fleshy, silky texture, where racy tannins provide a relief that is both massive and refined. The finish is fresh, offering aromas of small black berries with great intensity.

" Favorite 1J1V!"

"Aromas of black olive and black loam appear on the nose of the 2019 Crozes Hermitage les Hauts du Fief. It amply illustrates the positive aspects of the vintage, slightly sacrificing aromatic fireworks in favor of power, concentration and richness. The palate is full-bodied and ample, finishing long and velvety." (Wine Advocate 2022)
