Domaine Pierre Gaillard
Pierre Gaillard is an emblematic winemaker of the Rhône Valley. With a degree in viticulture and oenology, he bought Clos de Cuminaille in Malleval in 1981. In 2002, he created Domaine Madeloc in Banyuls-sur-Mer, and in 2007, Domaine Cottebrune in Faugères. Today, Pierre Gaillard is at the head of 77 hectares of vines, all estates combined.

The vines are spread across the northern Rhône valley, from Côte-Rôtie in the north to Cornas in the south. They are located on steep hillsides in the last foothills of the Massif Central.

Pierre Gaillard follows his inspiration while respecting the "raw material": the grape. At Malleval, Madeloc and Cottebrune, he strives for optimal conditions of hygiene and temperature control, between hand-harvesting, plot-by-plot vinification and grape-by-grape vinification. Pierre Gaillard 's wines express clean, precise fruit aromas, often deep color and present tannins without rusticity.

Domaine Pierre Gaillard - Condrieu Fleur d'Automne 2011 (50cl)

Fleur d'Automne is a generous, fresh Condrieu, a subtle blend of botrytis aromas with the fruity, floral notes of Viognier. High over-ripeness ensures acidity that harmoniously balances the berries' high sugar concentration. All the natural fleshiness and smoothness of Viognier on this terroir.

Domaine Pierre Gaillard - Condrieu Jeanne-Elise 2011 (37,5cl)

Condrieu Jeanne-Elise is a sweet white wine made by air-drying botrytized berries (40-50 days), then vinifying them in the traditional way. An original, astonishingly rich white, its aromatic range develops aromas of exotic fruits and orange peel. A real treat!

Domaine Pierre Gaillard - Grapillage 2011 (50cl)

Grapillage is made from late-harvest selections from plots of Roussanne and Viognier. A highly concentrated, very fruity wine, produced only in years when climatic conditions are favorable. A beautiful liquoreux, dense, rich and intense...

Domaine Pierre Gaillard - Côte-Rôtie Rose Pourpre 2010

Notes : Robert Parker 94/100, Bettane & Desseauve 18,5/20, RVF 15/20
"In an almost opaque crimson color, the Côte-Rôtie Rose Pourpre reveals floral accents, bacon aromas and raspberry nuances, with terrific structure and enough intensity and fruit to meet the well-presented tannins. This ripe, heady, long, rich Côte-Rôtie shows promise. Drink within 10-15 years. (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

"The modern style of the classic Côte Rôtie 2011 shows plenty of toasty oak aromas, with elegant raspberry, Christmas fruitcake and spice notes. Fruity and medium-bodied, in a delicious style. Drink in its first 7-8 years." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

"All finesse and suppleness, authentic peppery notes, the barrel still dominates a little." (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2014). A powerful, rich red, with great ageing potential, but also very fresh, with beautiful aromas of strawberry and black cherry...

Domaine Pierre Gaillard - Crozes-Hermitage 2011

Notes : Robert Parker 86-88/100, RVF 14,5/20
"In red, Crozes-Hermitage 2011 is quite fruity, to be drunk young." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2014 - RVF). A Crozes with beautiful depth, well structured, developing a most remarkable expression of Syrah. A charming and immediate wine!
