"A white Vacqueyras that rivals the finest wines of the region."
"The biodynamic-certified Vacqueyras Un Sang Blanc 2023 opens with aromas of ripe yellow apple, lemon flesh, white flowers, subtle cedar, and a hint of gunflint. Round and concentrated, the refreshing 2023 is flawlessly elegant and expresses itself with salty nuances on the sapid finish." (Vinous 2024)

3-star rating (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
A leading figure in Vacqueyras, we owe a great deal to Serge Férigoule, whose wines have accompanied the history of this appellation. Initially a vineyard worker, he has been the owner of Sang des Cailloux since 1990. Around twenty hectares scattered between Vacqueyras and Sarrians are harvested at perfect maturity and aged for a long time. In an uncompromising style that almost turns its back on modernity, this estate produces five red wines, whose concentration and delicate touch deserve greater aromatic precision. Come on, just a little progress and the blood of the stones will continue to flow down the throats of many wine lovers!

About wine:
Nose of candied citrus fruits. Quite full-bodied and ripe, fairly rich, but noble bitter notes help to provide structure. Acidity is also present, but the structure is also focused on bitter notes. Well-integrated toasted oak notes. The alcohol is barely warm and the wine has a lot of presence, without quite matching the elegance of the 2021 vintage. A vintage to be enjoyed young. Grenache blanc, Clairette, Roussanne, Marsanne, Bourboulenc, and Viognier. Aged in barrels, casks, and 180-liter terracotta amphorae.

About the estate:
This Vacqueyras estate boasts magnificent terroir on a plateau of rounded pebbles. Certified organic since 2010 and biodynamic since 2012, with strictly controlled yields, the property produces impressive Vacqueyras wines that require time to reveal their full potential. These structured, highly mature wines tend to refine with age in recent vintages. The Lopy cuvée can be so rich and dense that, in certain vintages, we may prefer the balance of the entry-level wines. The white, not presented in 2022, stands out as a fine benchmark in the sector.

About wine:
Floury, nutty, and slightly reduced nose. The palate is beautifully rounded and very fresh. A mineral and stone fruit mid-palate, followed by a nutty note on the finish. Very balanced and harmonious, it is already drinking very well. Very well constructed.
