About the estate:

A leading figure in Vacqueyras, we owe a great deal to Serge Férigoule, whose wines have accompanied the history of this appellation. Initially a vineyard worker, he has been the owner of Sang des Cailloux since 1990. Around twenty hectares scattered between Vacqueyras and Sarrians are harvested at perfect maturity and aged for a long time. In an uncompromising style that almost turns its back on modernity, this estate produces five red wines, whose concentration and delicate touch deserve greater aromatic precision. Come on, just a little progress and the blood of the stones will continue to flow down the throats of many wine lovers!

About wine:

More full-bodied than Floureto, with notes of violet and blackberry. The acidity is quite pronounced, the tannins fairly firm, slightly leathery but supple, finishing slightly grainy, but should mellow with time. A cuvée from old vines.

About wine:

A bright color, the nose is juicy, marked by seductive Grenache fruit. The juice is precise, with hints of black fruit and spices, and a floral touch adds to its finesse. The palate is full-bodied, with well-controlled substance, without excessive generosity. Made from destemmed grapes, the wine offers tannins that weave a beautiful length on the palate.

About the estate:

This Vacqueyras estate boasts magnificent terroir on a plateau of rounded pebbles. Certified organic since 2010 and biodynamic since 2012, with strictly controlled yields, the property produces impressive Vacqueyras wines that require time to reveal their full potential. These structured, highly mature wines tend to refine with age in recent vintages. The Lopy cuvée can be so rich and dense that, in certain vintages, we may prefer the balance of the entry-level wines. The white, not presented in 2022, stands out as a fine benchmark in the sector.

The nose is full of licorice. The palate is round and supple, with excellent fruit intensity. The tannins are firm and fine, detailed and structuring the dense fruity core. Long, fine, and elegant. Needs a year or two to refine, while retaining a beautiful freshness. Very well balanced.

The exceptional quality of the 2022 Vacqueyras Cuvée Lopy cannot be ignored. Red and black cherry, black plum, and licorice mingle with peppery and meaty accents. Complex and flavorful, this full-bodied wine is firmly structured by ripe tannins and offers remarkable concentration of flavors. The 2022 Cuvée Lopy finishes with a sweet fruit aftertaste. It is an excellent Vacqueyras, built for the long term.
