Château Pesquié
A family estate for three generations Château Pesquié was founded in the 70s by Odette and René Bastide, descendants of the famous writer Alphonse Daudet. Their daughter Edith and her husband Paul Chaudière succeeded them in the 80s with the desire to produce their own wines, leaving the cooperative and selecting different terroirs: clay-limestone, clay, sand and blue marl. Today, their children Frédéric and Alexandre Chaudière are at the helm of this 100-hectare vineyard.

Since 2018, the entire Château Pesquié vineyard has been farmed organically. Situated at the foot of Mont Ventoux, the estate benefits from a micro-climate, with the vines located between 250 and 300 meters above sea level, lending freshness to the wines. The style of the wines is centered on parcel selection, notably for the top red cuvées Artémia, Silica and Ascencio. Château Pesquié is continuing its ascent, and is now positioned as a veritable revelation of the Ventoux appellation's potential. An address worth discovering.

"A true jewel of the domain

"This deep purple wine has a remarkable nose of bright black and blue fruits, violets, ground pepper and crushed stone. The palate is medium to full-bodied, pure and concentrated, with good purity, ripe, well-built tannins and an excellent finish." (Jeb Dunnuck 2023)

"A very fine introduction to the appellation!"

"This vintage has fabulous cherry fruit, with some blueberry and garrigue mixed in. It's full-bodied, rich, velvety and balanced. It's neither too powerful nor too tannic; it's simply delicious." (Wine Advocate 2024)

"Tension and freshness are the watchwords of this vintage".

"Beautifully aromatic, quite southern with white peach aromas as well as notes of anise and fennel. A fine compromise between freshness and maturity. Open and approachable on the palate, with a certain roundness but no softness. A hint more intense on the palate than in the past". (Le Guide RVF 2025)

This fresh, aromatic cuvée is made from 4 southern grape varieties, including 40% Viognier, Grenache blanc, Roussanne and Clairette. "Confidential vintage

"The freshness is provided by the Ventoux climate, and the combination of Clairette (70%) and Grenache (30%) white stretches the wine's saline power". (Le Guide RVF 2023) A tribute to the birth of the family's first granddaughter in two generations... A cuvée well worth the detour!

"An air of Côte-Rôtie

"The Syrah immediately expresses its spiciness. The nose is peppery and spicy. This is a fair expression of Syrah: the palate is full-bodied, dense, with good structure. The wine is long and sappy with good wood management." (Jeb Dunnuck)

With a base of Roussanne (80%) and Clairette, this southern white has a complex nose, blending white flowers, exotic fruit and spices (saffron). spices (saffron). The attack is round and suave, balanced by fresh tension. A lovely cuvée of finesse, to match a truffle risotto. A fine bottle to bring to the table!

"Silica 2018, the second vintage of this cuvée, is 90% Grenache from sandy soils, and 70% was aged in demi-muids, while the rest was aged in concrete eggs. It is richer and fuller than the 2017, harmoniously blending notes of vanilla and cedar with ripe raspberries. It's full-bodied, creamy-textured, finishing rich, chewy and long, with hints of licorice adding further interest. It should age a decade or more." (Wine Advocate - Joe Czerwinski)
