Château Rombeau
Located in Rivesaltes, the Château Rombeau has been owned by the de La Fabrègue family since 1810, and has maintained its traditional values while modernizing to meet quality requirements.
With the arrival of Pierre-Henri de La Fabrègue in 1993, projects diversified around wine tourism and the Rombeau estate takes a new turn. The opening of an inn-restaurant, housed in the former 18th-century wine storehouses, became a must in the region and set the ball rolling. In 2001, the Hôtel des Vignes was born.

The vineyard covers 130 hectares of vines in 4 communes: Rivesaltes, Pia, Peyrestortes and Perpignan. Planted along the Agly valley, the vines benefit from optimal conditions for exceptional grape ripening and quality. The soil is mainly composed of clay-limestone terraces with rounded pebbles, and the daily wind helps to keep the vines disease-free. No fewer than 23 different grape varieties are grown by Domaine de Rombeau in the Côtes du Roussillon appellation area, as well as Rivesaltes, Muscats de Rivesaltes and IGP Catalanes. Some old Syrah and Grenache vines are used to produce highly complex red wines for ageing.

Conversion to organic farming began in 2008. Today, 27 hectares of the Domaine de Rombeau vineyard in the commune of Rivesaltes are certified organic.

"A true gourmet wine!

The intense, aromatic nose reveals scents of fruit and white flowers. On the palate, the lively structure harmonizes with the buttery aspect of oak ageing. Flavors of sweet spices and white and yellow fruits fill the palate.

"Best-Seller

This cuvée has a deep red color with ruby highlights. The intense, subtle nose offers grilled/toasted notes on first approach, before opening up to fine notes of cherry, blackberry, sweet spices and vanilla. The mouth is suave and silky. The ample, dense palate is lined with velvety tannins. Pepper and liquorice on the finish add tone and complexity.

"Amber with light green highlights, the color announces the onset of rancio. The same is true of the open, complex nose, playing with spices, tuns patina, dried figs, fruit in brandy and walnuts. On the palate, it's full and delicate, coated and fresh, silky. Aromas of dried fruit (apricot), smoke and coffee develop, before giving way on the finish to licorice and a persistent nutty note, typical of rancio". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021)
