Château de la Mar
In the commune of Jongieux, at the foot of the Alps, on the left bank of the Rhône behind Le Bourget du Lac, lies the medieval Château de la Mar. The estate and its 7 ha of vines are at the heart of the Cru Marestel appellation, which totals 22 ha and represents the jewel in the crown of Jongieux vineyards. Situated on the slopes of Mont de la Charvaz, the terraces are said to be the steepest in the wine world (according to Robert Parker). Its soils are composed of Kimmeridgian marl-limestone scree. Château de la Mar enjoys a full-west exposure and a microclimate provided by its proximity to the Rhône. The ideal, privileged exposure to the sun ensures that the Altesse grape is sublime here. At Château de la Mar, each plot is harvested and sorted by hand, guaranteeing optimal health at harvest time. The vines, which are partially grassed, are cultivated using integrated farming methods, making theAOC Roussette de Savoie Cru Marestel and the Mondeuse, Chardonnay, Altesse and Jacquère grape varieties the kings of this exceptional vineyard.

Expressive notes of white flowers and pear, underlined by fine hints of toasted almonds. Equally aromatic, the palate is warm and fruity, finishing with a welcome hint of bitterness. Sublime in any season!

An Altesse that lives up to its name. Heady, seductive, full-bodied and dense, this cuvée will sublimate your meals and your platters of Savoyard cheeses such as Tomme, Beaufort and Abondance. A unique style, a gourmet wine to discover.

Marestel is also a favorite hillside for Mondeuse. Made from the oldest vines on the estate, it has given birth to a true wine of passion. The nose offers spicy, peppery notes combined with aromas of wedges and black fruits. On the palate, the wine is fresh, invigorating, rustic and dense, typical of this emblematic Savoy grape variety. A wine of character to be aged for up to 15 years and enjoyed with game, for example.

Old vine Pinot is a truly elegant wine. To bring out its full flavors, we recommend drinking it between 16°C and 18°C, or chilled as an aperitif at 8°C. You can choose to enjoy it now, or let it mature in the cellar for up to 12 years. Structured, velvety, it's a treasure! A true Favorite.
