"A lovely Bergerac to be enjoyed at any time!

"We must salute the precision and reserve of freshness that the winemaker has succeeded in putting into this vat-aged 2022, with its luminous fruit and seductive, precise, spicy tannins. Good tension despite the degree". (Le Guide RVF 2025)

Wine rated (guide 2025) 93/100

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

The precision and reserve of freshness that the winemaker has succeeded in bringing to this vat-aged 2022, with its luminous fruit and seductive, precise, spicy tannins, is to be commended. Good tension despite the degree.

About the domain :

Bergerac, in the extreme south-east of the appellation: from his plots on the limestone plateau and deep-clay hillsides, worked organically, Julien Auroux looks to the future with serenity. His wines have turned their backs on the Bergerac past, which sought to ape the reds of Bordeaux by forgetting the soil. He, on the contrary, is committed to salinity, frank and precise aromatic expression, with indigenous yeast and almost no added sulfur. He rehabilitates grapes from the past for a return to the future. The range draws from the acidity of the soils a digestible presence and climbs a step this year.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 03/11/2024

Favorite for this remarkable Bergerac, powerful, suave and fresh. On the palate, it unfurls a luscious, fleshy juice with radiant, slightly candied fruit and a touch of spice, carried by delicate, round, velvety tannins. Vinified without the addition of wood - the right choice - the wine is textured, retaining a fine, saline energy and bursting with exuberant fruit right through to its extremely tenacious finish. Great price! A far cry from the fluent style, this Bergerac of character has already given much pleasure in its youth alongside a shoulder of lamb confit, accompanied by fresh green beans in parsley sautéed in butter. Score = 4.3.
