"A pure Merlot of great style, with a savory grain of tannin, which has relaxed after one more year, saline, vibrant, of great purity. The 2-hectare plot on limestone was planted by Luc de Conti's father." (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2015). A wine characterized by a beautiful balance between roundness, density and vivacity, supported by a complex aromatic palette (blackberry, morello cherry, discreet oak...).

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 17/20 (Reference wine)
3*Star rating (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
A pure Merlot of great style, with a delicious grain of tannin, which has relaxed after one more year, saline, vibrant, of great purity. The 2-hectare limestone plot was planted by Luc de Conti's father.
About the domain :
This property is the fiefdom of the de Conti family. Luc de Conti bought the estate in 1981. His cousin Francis and son Guillaume joined him, while daughter Margaux chose another estate (Barouillet) and son Gilles the beer route. 50 hectares are farmed organically, and a small part (12 hectares) biodynamically.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2023) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Una storia italiana. In 1986, the de Conti brothers joined their lands, associated their families and founded the de Conti company. Jean, Luc, their wives and a cousin, Francis, who contributes his 20 ha, follow in the footsteps of Vincenzo, who arrived here in 1925. Joined by the last generation, they manage 60 ha of vines (organic since 2005), supplemented since 2000 by a trading structure that sells wines from neighboring winegrowers who have also converted to organic methods. In 2022, Gilles and Margaux took over.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Rated 15/20 (Very good)
About the wine:
A warm opening. Slightly dry notes. The fruit is wedged between strawberry and morello cherry. The acidic finish makes it a perfect match for duck breast with cranberries.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated (2015 guide) 15.5/20 (Good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Les Gendres is a structured, pure, demanding and profound wine.
About the domain :
The 52-hectare estate has been freshly split between the two branches of the family. Luc de Conti, who has been delighting us with his Bergerac wines for twenty-five years, has separated from his cousin and, with his children, Margaux and Gilles, is building a new future for the estate. The vineyard, entirely organic, produces powerful whites and classic Bergerac reds. From now on, beer, whisky and truffles will also be on the agenda of the label de Conti.
