Expert opinion
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2019 guide) 16.5/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (2023 guide) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Frank, chard pear, complex, exotic fruit, papaya, lovely freshness, dynamic length, lovely finesse, touch of lime, lovely chard pear finish, touch of salted butter caramel.
About the domain :
The Plageoles family has left its mark on the recent history of wine in Gaillac. Robert, then Bernard and Myriam, who brilliantly took over from him, were pioneers in the defense of local grape varieties and ancestral winemaking techniques. Bernard's sons, Florent and Romain, are gradually taking over, defending the twelve varieties grown in their vineyards, including the delicious prunelart, the extremely rare verdanel and the mauzac quartet (green, red, pink and black). Away from fashion and the beaten track, the estate continues to produce wines with strong personalities, exclusively from a single grape variety. This work of the head, the heart and the hands is fully reflected in a range of cuvées aiming for purity, uprightness and originality.

one of my first discoveries at Plageoles. I hadn't tasted it for a very long time, and 1 jour 1 vin offered it. With this vintage, I had the pleasure of rediscovering all the originality of this cuvée.
