Gaillac
Located in the north of the Tarn department, the Gaillac appellation covers 2,500 hectares spread across 73 communes, with AOC production exceeding 165,000 hectoliters.
The Gaillac Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) wines are characterized by their extraordinary richness: whether dry white, sparkling or red, you will always discover a touch of finesse here, a more intense aromatic bouquet there, or unexpected red fruit aromas elsewhere.
Today, the Appellation includes around a hundred private cellars and three cooperative cellars. The variety of terroirs (three in total) and the age of the vineyards allow Gaillac to offer a varied and traditional range of grape varieties. This diversity in the Gaillac vineyards is reflected in a wide variety of wines, including a diverse range of dry, sweet, and sparkling white wines, red and rosé wines, and sparkling wines.
The Gaillac vineyard benefits from two influences:
- the mild ocean climate, which limits the risk of frost and provides the vines with a good water supply
- the Mediterranean heat in summer and autumn, accentuated by the Autan wind, ensures good ripening of the grapes and mild weather during the harvest.
The vineyard's ambitions are now being driven by a new generation of winegrowers, who combine their fathers' passion with the pragmatism of high-level training. In addition to the latest winegrowing technologies, their expertise also extends to sales and management techniques.
