Frey-Sohler - Alsace Instant Douceur Riesling Sélection de Grains Nobles (sweet) 2015

Frey-Sohler - Alsace Instant Douceur Riesling Sélection de Grains Nobles (liquoreux) 2015

2*Étoiles

Hachette

"A winemaker often distinguished for his late harvests. This year, a selection of noble straw-yellow grapes that combine power and elegance. On the nose, quince and candied apricot, citrus peel. This complex and rich fruitiness continues on the palate, which is very concentrated, full-bodied and generous, refined by a fresh and salty finish with hints of lime. Already harmonious, this 2015 will improve with time." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019)

About wine:

A winemaker often distinguished for his late harvests. This year, a selection of noble straw-yellow grapes that combines power and elegance. On the nose, quince and candied apricot, citrus peel. This complex and rich fruitiness continues on the palate, which is very concentrated, full-bodied and generous, refined by a fresh and salty finish with hints of lime. Already harmonious, this 2015 will improve with time.

About the estate:

Based in Scherwiller, near Sélestat, Damien, joined by his daughter Aude, has been running a 16-hectare estate since 1998, supplementing its production with a wine trading business. Their vineyards are spread over three terroirs, including Frankstein, a granite grand cru around the neighboring village of Dambach-la-Ville.
