Frey-Sohler Estate
Frey-Sohler is the story of a family of winegrowers who have been closely linked to the vineyard for five generations. In the 1940s, grandfather Xavier FREY set up the large grape market where the famous Alsatian houses came to buy Riesling. Today, the Frey-Sohler estate covers approximately 30 hectares and is run by the Sohler brothers: Nicolas, the winemaker, is also in charge of the vineyards. Jean handles labeling and Damien handles sales and administration for the estate. The sixth generation has just joined the estate.

The wines of Frey-Sohler come exclusively from the family estate, which is classified under the Alsace appellations: AOC Alsace, AOC Crémant d'Alsace, and AOC Grand Cru d'Alsace. In the "Alsace" appellation, the estate vinifies the seven authorized grape varieties: Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer for white wines, and Pinot Noir for rosés and reds. The estate has been Terra Vitis certified since the 2015 vintage.
