"Reflecting the granite soil and a sunny year, this 2020 is very expressive on the nose, delicately floral and mineral, with hints of candied lemon. White fruit adds to this palette on the palate, which is full-bodied, rich, and silky, balanced by ripe acidity. A beautiful terroir Riesling. (Le Guide Hachette 2024)

About wine:

Riesling has its own street in Scherwiller, which benefits from a communal appellation for this grape variety. Not far from the village stands the steep slope of Rittersberg, where this cuvée comes from. Reflecting the granite soil and a sunny year, this 2020 is very expressive on the nose, delicately floral and mineral, nuanced with a hint of candied lemon. White fruit adds to this palette on the palate, which is full-bodied, rich and silky, balanced by ripe acidity. A beautiful terroir Riesling. (Residual sugar 2.1 g/l.)

About the estate:

Based in Scherwiller, near Sélestat, Damien, joined by his daughter Aude, has been running a 16-hectare estate since 1998, supplementing its production with a wine trading business. Their vineyards are spread over three terroirs, including Frankstein, a granite grand cru around the neighboring village of Dambach-la-Ville.
