"With a still discreet nose and a more expressive palate, this wine develops more slowly than the Classique cuvée. With a semi-dry balance, its creaminess is delicious, and its velvety texture makes it a perfect table wine, ideal with spicy dishes." (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve)

Eye
Yellow dress with golden hues
Nose
A superbly complex bouquet subtly blending citrus, spice, ginger, and pastry aromas.
Mouth
Dry thanks to its acidity and beautiful maturity, full-bodied and elegant, with a finish supported by delicate acidity that confirms its delicious, gourmet character. Rich and fruity, it seems to border on sweetness... but this is only an illusion.

Food and wine pairings
The perfect accompaniment to smoked or gravlax salmon and fresh or pan-fried foie gras, this wine pairs well with spicy cuisines: Moroccan, Indian, Chinese, Thai, but also well-seasoned couscous, Peking duck or duck à l'orange, fajitas and jalapeño peppers, or even superb with blue cheeses, a must with Munster cheese and fresh fruit desserts...

Rated estate (2022 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)
About wine:
With a still subtle nose and a more expressive palate, this wine develops more slowly than the Classique cuvée. With a semi-dry balance, its rich creaminess and velvety texture make it a perfect table wine, ideal with spicy dishes.
About the estate:
The Ribeauvillé estate is slowly evolving to keep pace with the times. After shifting its focus to grand cru wines, Trimbach is now converting to organic farming (certification expected in 2023). The process will involve its grape and wine suppliers. Riesling reigns supreme here (55% of production). The terroirs are ideal: marl-limestone (Geisberg, Mandelberg, Clos-Saint-Hune au Rosacker) or granite (Schlossberg, Brand). The Frédéric-Émile cuvée blends the Osterberg and Geisberg grands crus. The 2017 and 2019 vintages will go down in history.

About wine:
Produced from old vines grown on Keuper-dominated marl-limestone soils and made only in the best years, the 2015 Gewurztraminer Cuvée des Seigneurs Ribeaupierre, with its golden-yellow color, opens with an intensely aromatic and dense bouquet of medium richness and complexity. On the palate, it is a very elegant, refined and rich Gewurz, as well as complex and persistent with orange aromas on the round and elegant finish, well-balanced and structured. Thanks to the finesse of its tannins and above all its vibrant and fresh salinity, the 2015 tastes less sweet than one might fear. In fact, it is a great gastronomic wine to pair with spicy and aromatic dishes or as a dessert in itself. Mango and other tropical aromas pulsate in the stimulating aftertaste. 14% alcohol declared. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2023.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 92/100
Rated estate (2023 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About wine:
Spicy and full-bodied, with a rather sunny character, Gewurztraminer is based on a tight structure dotted with subtle bitter notes. It deserves to be left to age a little longer to allow its structure to relax.
About the estate:
A must-visit estate that stands proudly in the beautiful city of musicians, Trimbach delights wine lovers with its legendary Frédéric-Émile and Clos Sainte-Hune vintages. Depending on the vintage, Pierre Trimbach vinifies Riesling in a vertical style, always dry. His brother Jean manages sales worldwide. They are now supported by the new generation, Anne and Frédérique (Pierre's daughters) and Pauline and Julien (Jean's children). The family vinifies nearly 60 hectares of their own vineyards and around 100 hectares of purchased grapes. Certain grands crus have been claimed since 2009 and are allocated directly in small quantities by Jean Trimbach to the world's finest restaurants. The house undeniably contributes to the promotion of Alsace wines with internationally renowned vintages, while producing entry-level wines of consistent quality. The range of Pinot Noirs still has room for improvement.

About wine:
Pale, bright golden yellow. Aromas of mango, grapefruit, and sweet spices. On the palate, more tropical fruit and honey; a lovely stony freshness brings remarkable clarity and sharpness. Much denser and richer than the entry-level Gewürz, but also better defined thanks to higher acidity. A fantastic Gewürz in the making. This is really a step up in concentration from the Reserve, and it reminds me a little of the 1971 Gewürz.
