Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domain rated (guide 2024) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

Having returned to the domaine in 1999, Matthieu Boesch was quick to take the plunge into organic and biodynamic viticulture, with certification in hand as early as 2006. However, while virtuous practices are one thing, it took more time for the wines to find their balance in the glass, for the extra acidity and tension to support each other in the sense of length. For the past two vintages, we've found this to be the case. Good news for us!

Domaine rated (2024 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the domain :

Fervent advocates of biodynamic viticulture for over ten years, Matthieu and his wife Marie represent the eleventh generation of the Léon Boesch estate in the heart of the Vallée Noble. Here, the Zinnkoepflé Grand Cru is now dedicated to Gewurztraminer, setting the benchmark for a dry, full-bodied style. The estate has been working biodynamically since 2000, and the winery inaugurated in Westhalten in 2010 is a bioclimatic model. The wines have depth and express the terroirs of the area to the full.
