"On a sandy soil of disintegrated rock, the Chiroubles vineyard demonstrates that it can deliver wines of wide amplitude. This is clearly the case with this expressive 2018, open to red fruits, spices and a touch of chocolate, dense on the palate, fat and fresh at the same time. A particularly harmonious wine." Wine rated (2020 guide) 2**Stars (Outstanding wine)

Domain rated (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the wine:

On a sandy soil of disintegrated rock, the Chiroubles vineyard demonstrates that it can deliver wines of wide amplitude. Such is the case with this expressive 2018, open to red fruits, spices and a touch of chocolate, dense on the palate, fat and fresh at the same time. A particularly harmonious wine.

About the domain :

Founded in 1926 on the northern slopes of Mont Brouilly, this family estate covers 21 ha, with parcels in four crus: brouilly, côte-de-brouilly, régnié and morgon. A sure bet in Beaujolais: the first wine to fall in love was a 1984, and many others have followed. David Duthel took over the running of the estate in 2010, supplementing it with a trading activity.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)

Domain rated (guide 2022) Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the wine:

From the vintage it offers floral scents of iris and mauve lilac. Supple on the palate, it reveals weathered tannins. A digestible and elegant signature of the soil.

About the domain :

Cathy Duthel and her husband David Duthel have taken over from Jean-Paul Ruet, who developed bottled sales at this estate founded in 1926. A firm believer in traditional semi-carbonic vinification, Domaine Ruet adapts to the profile of each vintage, partially de-stemming depending on the year, ageing in wood or vats, punching down and de-stemming to offer maximum fruit. Careful selection of plots brings out the marriage of soil and Gamay. A wide and very homogeneous range of wines to discover in a well-stocked cellar.

Beautiful chiroubles, fresh, crisp, with intoxicating aromas of flowers and red berries. Silky texture on the palate. A fine piece of work. Drink young.
