"A reliable, unflappable, chiselled Poujeaux ready to defy the years to come! ~ Yves Beck "
"Poujeaux is very faithful to its style and distinguishes itself by the consistency of its quality. The integration of wood is perfectly mastered, increasing complexity. Poujeaux epitomizes the Medoc's ability to make Cabernet Sauvignon shine in a blend. The attack is juicy and creamy, and the wine is well-structured thanks to a solid backbone. A reliable Poujeaux, unflappable, chiselled and ready to defy the years to come. What a great success" (Yves Beck 2021) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Owned by the Cuvelier family since 2008 (who also own Clos Fourtet, in Saint-Émilion), this deep-gravel vineyard on the Grand Poujeaux plateau enjoys formidable terroirs as well as optimal facilities. Recommended by Stéphane Derenoncourt, the result is one of the finest moulis ever made, both rich and suave.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (guide 2023) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Domaine noté (guide 2021) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
Intense red in color, this wine delivers a delicate bouquet of Morello cherry, black fruit and toast. On the palate, it develops a fine structure, full and well-balanced, backed by tannins as solid as they are elegant. Good aging potential. 2026 - 2032
About the domain :
Forgotten in the 1855 classification, Moulis having long remained a cereal-growing region, this cru is nevertheless one of the most renowned in the Médoc. A former seigneury dependent on Latour Saint-Maubert, the future Ch. Latour, it experienced a boom in the 1920s with the Theil family, who unified the vineyard, now 68 ha in a single block on the beautiful gravelly terroir of Grand-Poujeaux, and brought the estate to the top of the appellation. Since 2008, it has belonged to Philippe Cuvelier, owner of Clos Fourtet (Saint-Émilion's 1er grand cru classé), who maintains the highest standards of quality.

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
An emblematic property of the appellation, Poujeaux has belonged to the Cuvelier family (Clos Fourtet) since 2008. Under the leadership of its director, Christophe Labenne, advised by Stéphane Derenoncourt, the wines have steadily progressed, reaching a good cruising speed, so that the cru remains a benchmark in the appellation. The style tends towards finesse and elegance, which is perfectly suited to this cru, which nevertheless ages very well. The latest vintages are on target.

Vinous A. Galloni
Wine rated (guide 2021) 94/100
About the wine:
Poujeaux 2019 has a very defined and concentrated bouquet of blackberry, cedar, mint and light tea leaves. This is one of the most complex I've encountered from this great estate in recent years. The medium-bodied palate is fresh, vibrant and grippy, with slightly chalky tannins and a lingering, saline finish. Quite structured and fleshy, this Moulis deserves a long stay in bottle. 2027 - 2055

About the wine:
Attractive flavors of chocolate, red pepper and cedar. Lavender too. Medium-bodied, with firm, polished tannins and a caressing finish. Lovely texture. Will be ready sooner than others. Try it after 2024.
Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2020 guide) 94/100
About the wine:
Nose of ripe red fruit, cedar, cigar box, tar. Complex, full, taut palate. Gives a sensation of purity, elegance, already a great tasting moment. Huge potential, elegant and deep.

About the wine:
I gave it my highest score in the Primeurs. It's confirmed! Deep, intense, dark color. Superb, complex nose, pure, slightly smoky and noble. Meticulous from the outset, with an elongated yet fleshy body, the wine caresses the palate, offering a hitherto unknown sensation of fullness. A very long finish with multidimensional flavors. A great success and a new Outsider.
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Rated wine (guide 2022) 93/100
About the wine:
Espresso, black pepper, chocolate-covered blackberries and blackcurrants combine to create the perfume. The wine is sumptuous, polished, rich and supple, with an explosion of ripe, sweet, mellow fruit, espresso and dark chocolate on the finish. Give it a few years to soften and flesh out, and it will deliver for two decades. Drink between 2024 and 2040.
