Château Petit Bocq
Saint-Estèphe
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 14.5/20 (Good wine)
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the wine:
Powerful aromas of black fruit, licorice and violets, fairly pronounced oak, generous and very warm on the palate, with tight tannins that need to mellow, good length and potential.
About the domain :
This discreet 14-hectare château, located right next to Haut-Marbuzet on the same plateau, offers a fine representation of Saint-Estèphe terroirs. However, the high proportion of Merlot in the blends gives the wine a deliberately charming, flattering style.

Guide Hachette des vins
Rated wine (2018 guide) Cited (Successful wine)
About the wine:
Still dominated by wood, this wine is nonetheless interesting for its expressive bouquet, with vanilla and roasted (mocha) breeding notes, and hints of tangy fruit. On the palate, a nervous tannic structure and a finish of wild berries and spices indicate good potential.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated (2017 guide) 15.5/20 (Good wine)
About the wine:
Very dense and well-built, with a woodiness that still dresses it up a little but which the material will absorb, the 2014 is a solid long-distance runner.
