Hautes-Côtes de Nuits
In red, Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits crimson or dark ruby wines, made from Pinot Noir grapes, are often characterized by raspberry, cherry, licorice and sometimes violet aromas. They are characterized by a frank, firm flavor, pleasantly ripe tannins and body, but without excess. Pinot noir produces a very small rosé wine: Bourgogne rosé (or Bourgogne Clairet) Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits. Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits white wines, made from Chardonnay and, more rarely, Pinot blanc or gris, range in color from white gold to pale gold, or even yellow gold for barrel-aged wines. Hawthorn and honeysuckle mingle with apple, lemon, white nettle and hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, solid and well-balanced, with a slightly dashing side that's easy to notice. The latter will help it age well. Enthusiasts will appreciate wines from Domaine Méo-Camuzet, Domaine Faiveley, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Domaine Antonin Guyon.

Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Charmont blanc 2021 is very expressive and intense on the nose, with hints of nougatine and marron glacé, followed by green notes. The assertive minerality, combined with the fine woodiness, reveals scents of flint, gunflint and heather earth. On the palate, the attack is fresh, with good acidity and pastry aromas. There's also a fine salinity on the finish. This complex, long wine with a beautiful freshness will sublimate your "bouchées à la reine", with fish or otherwise...

The tangy, saline palate is a real temptation. A fine companion for aperitifs and the table, between freshness and fatness.

This Burgundy Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits 2005 comes from the personal part of the younger brother of the Domaine Antonin GuyonDominique, who has achieved an incredible reconstitution of over 350 parcels, bought from nearly 80 owners in the 1970s. Today, they form a single 22-hectare plot on the well-exposed hillsides above the village of Meuilly. An excellent terroir for this ruby-red Pinot Noir cuvée, which opens with aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry. Suppleness, structure and balance characterize this wine, which is ideal with prime rib.
