Bettane & Desseauve

"It has creaminess, density and a lively finish—it's already very good." (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France) Surprisingly aromatic with mineral and floral notes, the Les Combettes Premier Cru is well-rounded with a lively, fresh finish. A very successful white wine in a complex vintage!

Rated estate (2018 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, those who are the pride of French vineyards)

About wine:

It has creaminess, density, and a lively finish—it's already very good.

About the estate:

Édouard Labruyère's enthusiasm and determination to position this estate among the ranks of the grands crus are remarkable. His efforts are evident in the vineyard, which has been farmed organically since 1997, in the cellar, where foudres and demi-muids have been used since 2012, and, most importantly, in the glass. With its exceptional range of grands crus from 22 hectares of vineyards, including 17 hectares in the Côte de Beaune and an exclusive selection of grands crus in the Côte de Nuits, this estate has all the attributes to join the elite of Burgundy estates.

A poor, even scandalous value for money.
