Bierzo
Bierzo vineyards are planted on soils composed of a mixture of quartz and schist, and benefit from the region's characteristic hot, dry climate. The low altitude prevents late frosts and favors early grape ripening. These local characteristics allow the vines to flourish. The quality of the Bierzo terroir is perfectly expressed in the vintages offered by Bodega Mengoba and Bodegas de Cacabelos.
Bierzo wines are produced according to strict rules. Red Bierzo wines are mainly made from Mencia and Garnacha Tintorera grapes, while white Bierzo wines are made from Doña Blanca, Godello and Palomino grapes.

It seems to be more complete than the 2013, powerful, with better balance and incipient complexity. The palate is still marked by ageing, but you can feel the intensity and concentration of the vintage, coupled with a lovely acidity that brings good balance to this powerful style.
