Domaine Alain Chabanon
Domaine Alain Chabanon is located on an exceptional terroir at the foot of the Larzac plateau. The vineyard comprises some 20 hectares evenly spread over the territory of five communes (Jonquières, St André, Lagamas, Saint Saturnin and Montpeyroux). This allows us to benefit from a wide range of micro-climates and soil types. The terroir of Domaine Alain Chabanon is ideally suited to the cultivation and development of vines: arid, stony soils in the foothills of the Larzac limestone plateau, cold winters and hot summers framed by mild springs and autumns.

Domaine Alain Chabanon has been managed under Ecocert-certified Organic Farming since 1992 and Demeter-certified Biodynamic Farming since 2010. All grapes are harvested by hand, and only between 7 a.m. and midday, even for the reds, to take advantage of the fresh morning air. The winemaking method used varies according to a number of criteria, the most important of which are the quality of the vintage and the grape variety. One thing at least is invariable: no industrial yeasts are used, and Domaine Alain Chabanon prefers to use yeasts that have been living naturally on the grape skins for months!

"The estate's flagship, this Montpeyroux has a magnificent structure that will not leave you indifferent.

"L'Esprit de Font Caude 2019 is a great wine, more concentrated, with chalky tannins, aniseed, camphor, which can still benefit from a few more years in the cellar." (Le Guide RVF 2025)

This cuvée, a blend of Mourvèdre, Syrah and Grenache, delivers a nose with aromas of raspberry, pepper and garrigue. Round, juicy and floral on the palate, with hints of garrigue and lingering licorice notes. Very fresh finish.

"A fruity white, crisp and well-balanced".

Petit Trélans is a cuvée with an expressive nose of yellow and white fruit aromas and aniseed notes. The palate is dapper and subtle, lively and straightforward, with pulpy fruit and a fresh, mineral finish. A lovely wine to open as an aperitif, then serve with gambas tartar.

Predominantly Mourvèdre, this cuvée is aged in egg-shaped concrete vats, preserving a very fine quality of fruit. The Mourvèdre is finely worked, with accents of black fruit and pepper, but with a remarkable freshness on the finish. A great wine for laying down, which is already tasting wonderfully!

Alain Chabanon - Trélans 2017

vermentino

"Trélans en Blanc offers both patina and fatness, enhanced by discreet wood ageing and a crystalline palate". (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2022 - RVF). A white that reveals notes of fresh pear, quince and honeysuckle, accompanied by touches of smoky black tea and zesty citrus. A full-bodied, very fresh and complex wine, to be enjoyed with salt-crusted bass, for example.

"Cuvée Hommage

"All the sensibility and know-how of this great winemaker in this cuvée born of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, and which has not seen any wood. An airy, fresh nose of grenadine and cherry enhanced by notes of thyme and garrigue. A chiselled, light palate, which follows the palette perceived on olfaction, delicately structured by velvety tannins and enhanced by a touch of acidity. Everything is refined, delicate, long and absolutely delicious. The jury bows before such grace." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021) A fine expression of the estate's poor, stony terroirs.

(2014 vintage notes)

One of the estate's great reds. Cultivated on the Mas Garrigou plot, the vines grow on an exceptional soil of rolled pebbles on a bed of pure clay. Its natural, vibrant character is immediately seductive. It offers spicy, empyreumatic, lavender and ripe fruit aromas, with a fresh finish.

(2014 vintage notes)

Les Boissières takes its name from the terroir on which the vines are planted, a stony soil that bears witness to the presence of a glacier several millennia ago. Its red fruit (strawberry, raspberry) and cardamom aromas will transport you. A fine, elegant wine to tame.

"Saut de Côte 2011, aged for a long time in concrete ovoid tanks, lets its uncluttered fruitiness, solar but of great finesse, whisper a magnificent Mediterranean aromatic landscape: a summit of the cellar and a visionary wine." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 - RVF).

"Clear, bright, very fragrant, Campredon 2012 is exemplary of the Languedoc identity dusted off." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2015 - RVF). This bottle pays homage to Alain Chabanon's maternal family, a cuvée intense on the nose and highly aromatic, savorily fruity and with great freshness. A fine expression of the estate's poor, stony terroirs...
