Puech-Haut Castle
The Puech-Haut Castle, nestled between the shores of the Mediterranean and the foothills of the Cévennes in the commune of Saint-Drézery, a small village 15 kilometers northeast of Montpellier. It was here, some thirty years ago, that the somewhat crazy dream of a passionate industrialist, Gérard Bru, took shape: to turn an exceptional terroir, then covered with scrubland and olive trees, into one of the highest quality vineyards in the Languedoc, Château Puech-Haut.

A highly successful mission over the past decade: the Puech-Haut vineyard now has around 100 hectares of vineyards that benefit from a very favorable Mediterranean climate on soils composed of clay, limestone, and covered with rounded pebbles, the same as those found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The grape varieties, selected by the Puech-Haut Castle for their suitability to the terroir (Syrah and Grenache in particular), are cultivated according to sustainable principles without chemical weedkillers, and the grapes are harvested manually at perfect maturity. Vinification, in barrels and wooden vats depending on the color, is carried out separately for each grape variety to preserve their unique characteristics. Finally, aging in barrels meets criteria that give the Coteaux du Languedoc wines from the Domaine du Puech-Haut Castle.

Château Puech Haut, where human expertise meets the intelligence of nature

The Château Puech-Haut vineyard offers you an exceptional vintage worthy of great expertise and high-quality vines. The Puech-Haut experience brings all the satisfaction of a grape variety with a unique character steeped in history.

A unique terroir located in an exceptional setting

Located on 150 hectares near Montpellier, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Cévennes mountains, the Puech-Haut estate enjoys a climate that benefits the finesse of its wines. After a successful career in business, its founder, Gérard Bru, turned to a simple plot of land to build his dream: to serve his Languedoc region and bring out all its richness, as his grandfather had done before him. "Am I crazy? I'll let others judge that. But when I have a dream, I see it through to the end," he says. This is the man behind this land, tended with love and respect, which now reveals its full potential through a high-quality wine.

A wine with unique characteristics, produced with respect for the land and its people.

The vines are cultivated in harmony with nature, respecting the vine and its natural cycle. The winegrowing practices are based on proven traditional and modern expertise, giving each cuvée its unique character. The high quality of the Languedoc soil, composed of clay and limestone and covered with rounded pebbles, adds to the identity of the Puech-Haut estate for each grape variety.

A wide variety of vines for a unique blend from Château Puech-Haut

The wines Puech-Haut reds, whites or rosé wines reflect the wide variety of vines grown on the estate. After each harvest, the wines are meticulously blended according to the characteristics of the different grape varieties grown on the three plots that make up the Puech-Haut estate. The château produces around 500,000 bottles per year, including the cuvées Aries Head, whose reputation is well established and who today embody the French and Languedoc wine-making tradition. The red wines are mainly made from Syrah grapes, but also Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan, while the white wines are made from Grenache, Marsanne, and Roussanne grapes, which bring a great richness of aromas and texture to the products. Château Puech-Haut shares its passion for the land and the work of the vineyard with you.
