Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2026 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
Yannick and Benoît Amirault are perfectionist winemakers who naturally converted to organic farming. They have 19 hectares of Cabernet Franc, two-thirds of which are in Bourgueil and the rest in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, each with a good heritage of old vines.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2026) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)
About wine:
The brilliance and elegance of the estate's wines are evident in this 2023 vintage, which blends wines from vineyards located on the Bourgueil terrace (mainly sand and gravel). The nose is very pure, with hints of raspberry coulis, revealing the perfect ripeness of the Breton grape. The palate displays the same fullness, with a supple, supple, and very crisp style. Drink while young to enjoy its fruitiness.
About the estate:
Present in Saint-Nicolas and Bourgueil, Yannick Amirault is one of the stalwarts of these two appellations. It is now his son Benoît who cultivates (organically) the estate's 19 hectares.

About the estate:
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rating (2025 guide) 92/100 (Review no. 692 - July/August 2025)
Rated estate (2026 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About wine:
Irresistible fruity and floral nose, full of youth and vibrancy. This sensation is echoed on the palate, which is full-bodied and led by mouthwatering tannins. Delicious.
About the estate:
Benoît arrived at the family estate in Bourgueil in 2003 to continue the family adventure started by his father Yannick in 1997. Two-thirds of the vineyard is located in Bourgueil, with the rest in the neighboring Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil appellation. You can sense the winemakers' perfectionism and their desire to express the terroir through very silky and civilized Cabernet Franc wines that retain their vibrant fruitiness. The estate has been certified organic since 2009 and the wines are gaining in purity every year thanks to increasingly precise vinification methods (conical wooden vats, barrels and stoneware jars). The 2022 and 2023 vintages delight us with their frank, clear expression and finesse.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 05/28/2025
As remarkable as ever in the consistency of its wines, Amirault delivers a beautiful, lively, and expressive Bourgueil with this 2023 vintage. Underlined by a fine graphite acidity that brings a more restrained freshness than in the past, the palate offers a superb supple, concentrated and satiny juice, coated with a pleasant sweetness around tasty flavors of ripe fruit, full of vitality and subtly spicy, supported by lovely tannins that are present but well integrated. The equally indulgent finish is elegant and long. Excellent value for money. Appetizing and fresh, Côte 50 2023 can already be enjoyed with great pleasure with simple, everyday dishes such as thick slices of braised Vendée ham and tomato mojettes, or veal liver with balsamic vinegar and mashed potatoes. Rating = 4.2.
