Bettane & Desseauve
"A wonderful interpretation of the limestone terroir of Menetou-Salon."
Morogues blanc, one of the vintages that embodies the DNA of Domaine de la Tour Saint Martin. Typical Sauvignon notes are present on the first nose with hints of iodine. The palate is generous, with pleasant bitter notes emerging behind a voluminous and rich body. A refreshing acidity is very much present.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 91/100
3-star rating (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About wine:
White fruits and citrus blend beautifully on the nose and palate. A beautifully crafted, rising finish.
About the estate:
With 17 hectares, Bertrand Minchin, a cheerful and engaging winemaker, is one of the sure values of the Menetou-Salon and Valençay appellations. Over the years, he has refined the style of his reds, which are among the best in the region, and his imposing, structured whites have gained in precision. Superb value for money.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 92/100
About wine:
Aromas of yellow plum and very ripe citrus blossom on the palate, which is rich, full, and textured. This well-balanced 2022 is a powerful, concentrated wine with just the right amount of acidity to support its richness. The vines are located in the commune of Morogues and are planted on clay-limestone soils over Kimmeridgian marl. The hand-harvested grapes were fermented in stainless steel and then aged on the lees.

Rated estate (2025 guide) Mentioned (Successful wine)
About the estate:
A sure bet in the Menetou-Salon appellation with his Domaine La Tour Saint-Martin, Bertrand Minchin, equally at ease with reds and whites, has been established since 1987 at the head of 17 hectares of vineyards on the heights of Morogues, currently converting to organic farming. In 2004, he expanded into the Valençay appellation with the 15 hectares of Claux Delorme in Selles-sur-Cher, where he quickly established himself as a benchmark producer.

Rated estate (2025 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
Bertrand Minchin is based in Morogues, in the Menetou-Salon appellation, with the La Tour Saint Martin estate, and also in Valençay (Claux Delorme) – two estates that are part of Domaines Minchin. The Valençays are lively and straightforward, while the Menetou-Salon wines are vinified with precision. The Sauvignons reflect the expression of their terroir thanks to careful craftsmanship, as do the skillfully crafted reds. The estate has been certified Organic since 2022.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 04/28/2024
This reliable Menetou-Salon wine has a generous 2022 vintage with good volume and a certain tension on a tonic, mineral base that lingers on the finish with subtle bitter notes. I would have appreciated a little more freshness to balance the predominant aromatic expression. Instead of shellfish, I preferred to pair this Morogues with a springtime barbecue of beautiful line-caught sea bass with fennel braised in olive oil. Rating = 3.9.

Review and opinion by Mr. MATHIEU W. Published on 04/22/2024
Medium straw yellow color. On the nose, ripe apple, white peach, honey, candied lemon, beeswax, and then that typical boxwood and freshly cut grass. Complex, layered, and very inviting aromas. On the palate, an expected, plump attack of apple, mango, fennel, and asparagus. Also some rose water. Medium acidity, lots of substance, and very coating (glycerin). Lots of flavor, character, substance, and conviction. Long, coating finish with a hint of asparagus bitterness at the end. Score: 17/20
