"A real treat
La Roulerie, famous for its sweet wines and dry Anjous, presents here its dry rosé Les Camélias 2020. A pale-colored wine, almost atypical for the region, composed of equal parts Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. It offers a delicate nose and a fresh mouthfeel, for a thirst-quenching juice. A pleasant rosé as an aperitif or with summer grilled meats...

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domain rated 1*Star (A serious, commendable production, in keeping with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
Philippe Germain - brother of Thierry Germain, of Domaine des Roches Neuves in Saumur-Champigny - also makes chenin on schist terroirs! He farms 37 hectares organically (out of a total of 43), in a magnificent setting, with the château overlooking the Saint-Aubin valley. Finer pressings, a little less ripeness at harvest for the whites, less sulfur in the vinifications have been the adjustment variables that have greatly advanced the estate, which came into the Germain family in 1996. Philippe took over the reins in 2004 with the firm intention of raising it to the top. From 2010 onwards, the turning point has been felt, and the wines are gaining in depth and brilliance. This is a sure-fire address, supported by care and hard work, and well done.

About the domain :
Managed by Philippe and Marie Germain since 2004, Ch. de la Roulerie owes its prestige to its sweet wines produced in the commune of Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné. The same rigor is applied to the vinification of the red wines. The vineyard, managed organically, covers 40 hectares.

Rosé with a seductive, citrusy presentation. The palate is round and feminine, with a cheeky aroma of red fruit (cherry, watermelon, raspberry) and tart candy. The finish is elegant, light and crisp. Excellent Q.P.R. and above all pleasure. Drink up quickly. Les Camélias was the ideal partner at 10° for a riverside picnic finally deserted by tourists, with a generous Nicoise pissaladière and a lovely homemade tart with fresh raspberries. Score 3.9 for this pleasant discovery.
