Alpilles
Famous for their rosé wines, the vineyards of the Provence - Côte d'Azur region also offer a wide range of equally exceptional red and white wines. IGP wines from the Alpilles benefit from a Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and hot, sometimes very hot, summers, with temperatures reaching up to 40° C. Rainfall is irregular and often takes the form of violent storms. The region's fierce Mistral wind has a beneficial influence on the vines. The IGP vineyards of the Alpilles, stretching along the coast or winding through the valleys of the hinterland, offer a superb setting, with accents that are diverse to say the least.

As in all Mediterranean vineyards, theAlpilles PG I features a wide variety of grape varieties. For the redIGP des Alpilles, Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Cabernet franc, Mourvèdre, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot and Counoise. For theIGP des Alpillles red-white, the winemakers mainly use Ugni-blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc and Rolle. Muscat à Petits Grains, Chasan, Chardonnay and Sauvignon are also used. The Domaine de Trévallon IGP wines from the Alpilles region are particularly noteworthy.

"A bewitching red that takes us straight to Provence".

Domaine de Trévallon's red wines are characterized by long ageing on lees, which nourishes the wine. The 2021, half-Syrah, half-Cabernet Sauvignon, has a powerful nose of garrigue and black olives. A great red, between complexity and finesse, with very fine tannins. It will drink well young after an hour's aeration, but will age well for at least 30 years.
