Robert Parker
"A Côte-Rôtie with a bright future!"
"The Côte Rôtie Les Grandes Places 2022, another impressive wine, offers tons of red and black fruit along with notes of smoked meat, iron, flowers, and an almost bloody character. It is a real mineral bomb, medium-bodied to full-bodied, with a structured and tannic palate, lots of depth on the mid-palate, and an excellent finish. " (Jeb Dunnuck 2024)

Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
After studying in Beaune, then gaining experience in the United States and in the Bordeaux region, on his wife's estate (Ch. Filliol), Stéphane Pichat returned to his homeland to breathe new life into this old property, founded by his great-grandparents. Settling there in 2000, he began bottling wines and, from 5 hectares in Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu, produced wines of consistently impeccable quality.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rating (2025 guide) 92/100 (Outstanding wine)
About wine:
Very different from its counterpart, the 2022 Côte Rôtie Les Grandes Places reveals a dense and deep bouquet of oak, smoke, iron, spices, and baked black berries. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, dense and firm, it is concentrated, with structured tannins and a firm and relatively robust finish. The oak is very present at this stage, somewhat overshadowing the wine's inherent power. I doubt that cellaring will allow the terroir to fully emerge, as the woodiness is likely to continue to dominate rather than fade.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 93/100
About wine:
The 2022 Côte-Rôtie Les Grandes Places remains marked by oak, revealing notes of wood smoke, black cherry compote, and cloves, with a touch of bourbon vanilla. Built around massive oak tannins, the structured 2022 is clearly built for the long term, requiring at least five more years before it can be uncorked. An intense and complex finish rounds it all off.
