"A superb Syrah that is definitely worth discovering!"

Another superb vintage from Stéphane Ogier, made from vines planted in the commune of Turpin on granite soils, La Rosine Syrah 2022 offers aromas of Timut pepper, violet, blackberry, and black berries mixed with lovely floral notes. Moderately full-bodied and delicately juicy, it is round and perfectly balanced, with a smooth mid-palate and a fresh, fruity core leading to a long, fresh and delicate finish." (Wine Advocate 2025)

About the estate:

Stéphane Ogier's ambition is reflected in the quality of his wines, but also in his new winery. It is a magnificent facility for vinifying his Côte-Rôtie and Seyssuel terroirs by plot. Barrel vinification is mastered through long aging. A reliable source of excellent Syrahs from the northern Rhône, prized by top sommeliers and wine merchants around the world.

Rated estate (2024 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

Since 2014, Stéphane Ogier has been making wine in an ultra-modern winery in Ampuis, giving free rein to his creative talent. Of the 18 hectares cultivated by this estate, 3.5 hectares are located on some very fine Côte-Rôtie plots. Stéphane joined his father Michel in 1997 after studying oenology in Beaune, where he developed a taste for elegance and finesse. The wines are made from partially destemmed grapes (50% whole bunches in the Lancement cuvée). The precision of the latest vintages, the rigorous selection of single vineyard cuvées and the style now displayed by the wines place the estate among the elite, with a third star now in its sights.

About wine:

Collines Rhodaniennes La Rosine 2022 is a powerful wine with aromas of ripe red and black fruits, asphalt, toasted herbs, and leather. Grown on the granite soils of the southern part of the appellation, this medium-bodied to full-bodied wine shows good maturity and lovely roundness, offering a fleshy, flavorful character balanced by a beautiful fruity sweetness. Best enjoyed between 2025 and 2032.
