Stéphane Ogier
Domaine Michel et Stéphane Ogier is located in Ampuis, cradle of the Rhône Valley's finest wines. Stéphane took over from his father Michel in 1997, after studying oenology in Beaune.

Today, Domaine Michel et Stéphane Ogier 's vineyards cover 11 hectares of schist and granite terroir, including 3.5 hectares in the Côte-Rôtie appellation, on ideally-situated plots. Stéphane Ogier cultivates his vineyards as carefully as possible, harvesting by hand, and pays particular attention to the mastery of his ageing techniques, a true signature of the assertive, authentic character of the wines he produces.

"A well-balanced example of Viognier, Rosine's 2020 Vin de France Viognier presents attractive scents of fresh flowers, citrus, apricot and pineapple. It is moderately dense, but silky and refreshing, with a light chalkiness on the finish. Drink young. (Wine Advocate 2022).

"Enthusiasts who like their Syrah with more acidity and red fruit should try Seyssuel's 2018 L'Âme Sœur Syrah. Bright raspberries appear on the nose, accented by notes of peppery spice, licorice and mocha. The palate is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and richly textured, with slightly dusty tannins that linger on the finish. It seems a little more full-bodied and rich than the last time I tasted it, but retains plenty of charm. Drink it over the next decade. (Wine Advocate 2021) - Attention, very limited quantities.

"Aged in stainless steel (25%) and older oak (75%), Rosine's 2018 IGP Collines Rhodaniennes Viognier offers a generous bouquet of floral, apricot and pineapple scents. "The adage that you drink the producer and not the vintage proves true here, and this entry-level offering offers incredible charm and elegance, along with notes of cured meats, olives, dried spices and black fruits. It should keep for 7-8 years, but there's no need to deprive yourself just yet." (Wine Advocate 2016 - Robert Parker)
