"A fine wine for laying down that's starting to open up!
"A very successful red, sanguine, spicy, powdery, with weathered tannins. It's already perfect today, with a lovely smoky character reminiscent of fresh Syrahs from the Northern Rhône. Notes of camphor, good control and tension". (Le Guide RVF 2024).

Wine rated (guide 2024) 3*Favorite (Exceptional wine)
About the wine:
This youthful 2015, aged in barrel for 22 months, won over the jury. Its arguments: a beautiful garnet-red color with ruby highlights, little evolved for its age; a bouquet of freshness, spices, thyme and an intense mineral note of pebbles; a very elegant, long, round and supple palate, centered on black fruits and garrigue herbs, endowed with fine, crisp tannins from whole-harvest vinification, with a return of minerality on the finish. Majestic, and for a long time to come.

About the domain :
On the beautiful, high-altitude granite terraces of the Fenouillèdes region, northwest of Maury, Gérard Gauby and a few associates acquired this certified organic estate. In 2016, Wendy Wilson replaced Gerald Stanley, who had run the estate since 2008. The red and white wines are vinified in barrels on the basis of very natural principles: indigenous yeasts, no acidification, no chaptalization. Never lacking in freshness or elegance, the reds have recently gained in structure and fleshiness. But from the very first vintage, in 2001, Le Soula has distinguished itself primarily through its whites, which have impressed us with their purity and intensity: the combination of Macabeu, Sauvignon Blanc and several other grape varieties works wonders. The wines are often worth waiting for to reach their full expression.

Excellent, perfectly mature in 2024, very balanced... Not cheap or exceptional, however. A sure value but not unforgettable
