"A colorful wine, rich in ripe flavors of black fruits, herbs and plants. Dense yet taut, thanks to controlled ageing in wood. This is complemented by graphic terroir flavors and salivating tannins. A very good table wine to drink this year with a juicy piece of beef". (Le Guide des bonnes affaires du vin 2015 - Gerbelle & Maurange)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
Domain rated 1*Star (A serious, commendable production, in keeping with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the wine:
Aged for a year in Stockinger barrels, this Bergerac, tasted before bottling, delivers a rich, gourmet, elegant palate with highly polished tannins.
About the domain :
Having settled in Vélines in 2000, Isabelle Carles and Franck Pascal have chosen to produce pure, sulphur-free wines that are both easy to digest and fruity - wines you can drink. Certified biodynamic since the 2011 vintage, the 19-hectare estate has always been run according to the principles of organic farming, in order to protect both the environment and their health. Well done them, for without falling into the trap of vin nature, where fermentations run at full gallop, they produce a pretty coherent range, worked by terroir, without technicalities, in the Burgundian style.

Wine rated (2015 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (2021 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Class IK 2011, structured and very honest, displays a beautiful intensity of fruit behind an initial reduction, always very nuanced.
About the domain :
Situated on a clay-limestone terroir overlooking the right bank of the Dordogne, this estate is one of the driving forces behind the Bergerac revival. Isabelle Carles and Franck Pascal vinify lively, pure wines with intense expression and great freshness, which they offer at very affordable prices. The reds are sulfur-free and input-free, even at bottling. This approach is mastered: after aeration, the wines remain clean and well-balanced, with perfect, natural acidity.

A wonderful discovery! A wine with lots of chewiness and fruit. Very good value for money. You'll have to wait another 2/3 years for it - alas, I've run out!

To make many domains Bordeaux wines (identical grape varieties) pale into insignificance. Fruity, full-bodied. The whole is perfectly balanced. Excellent to drink as is. And what's more, it's a "clean" wine. What more could you ask for at this price? An appellation and, above all, an estate to discover.

A powerful, rather rustic wine, even if decanting makes it softer and more taut (acidity). On the palate, there's plenty of fruit, but the finish is short and a little rough.
