"Intense, brilliant, limpid garnet: the presentation of this 2013 is beyond reproach. The wine is just as seductive on the nose, with elegant red and black fruit aromas and soft accents of spice, vanilla and wood. Powerful on the attack, full-bodied and open to jammy blackberry, the wine unfurls with mellow tannins, then encounters a welcome freshness in a most delicate vanilla finish". Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2016 guide) 2*Coup de Coeur (Outstanding wine)
Domaine noté 2018 (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
Intense, brilliant, limpid garnet: the presentation of this 2013 is beyond reproach. The wine is equally seductive on the nose, with its elegant perfumes of red and black fruits and soft accents of spice, vanilla and wood. Powerful on the attack, full-bodied and open to jammy blackberry, the wine unfurls with mellow tannins, then encounters a welcome freshness in a most delicate vanilla finish.
About the domain :
A major cooperative in southwestern France, the Cave de Buzet produces many of the appellation's wines (red, white and rosé). It was founded in 1953, and the Buzet appellation was created twenty years later. It advocates sustainable viticulture, reconciling technical progress with natural practices.

Supple wine, with bell pepper notes and little length. Correct value for money, but nothing more, in any case far from the 3* that Hachette gave it.

Very big disappointment! The Hachette "experts" didn't taste what I did! Impossible to find the slightest hint of spice, vanilla or woodiness... this wine has very little taste. I have the impression of drinking a Loire wine whose grapes have not seen the sun. I don't understand the difference compared to the advertised description. I can see from the other comments that I'm not the only one to make this observation... Very disappointed

I agree with Philippe that the description has nothing to do with the wine tasted: none of the aromas described are to be found, except for the freshness, not to say the greenness, or even the acidity. It's almost a swindle, and I'm not going to reconcile myself with Buzet just yet.

Is the content of the bottle tasted by the Guide Hachette experts the same? Despite aeration in a decanter and tasting again the next day, I found a closed, very tannic, very powerful wine. This wine is not seductive on the nose, the tannins are not mellow but aggressive, and I did not find the advertised aromas of vanilla, blackberry, licorice...
