Tariquet
An iconic and historic vineyard in the Southwest, the Tariquet Estate is located in Gascony and has belonged to the Grassa family since 1912. Initially, the estate was renowned for its Armagnacs. In 1982, Yves Grassa decided to venture (successfully) into white wine production. Today, his children, Armin and Rémy Grassa, offer a range of dry and sweet white wines that enjoy an excellent reputation in France and around the world.

Although some consider Domaine Tariquet wines to be "technological" due to their rather innovative winemaking methods, this has not prevented them from receiving numerous awards. Thanks to the wide variety of grape varieties (Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Chenin, Sémillon, Gros Manseng, and Petit Manseng), clay-limestone soils, boulbènes, and fawn-colored sands, Domaine Tariquet produces balanced, fresh, and fruity wines labeled under the IGP Côtes de Gascogne

Long known for its Bas-Armagnac wines, Domaine Tariquet has become Europe's largest family-owned wine estate in the space of forty years. Recognized as the king of festive white wines, Domaine Tariquet now cultivates 1,125 hectares of vineyards in Gascony, compared to 40 hectares in 1972. Domaine Tariquet produces 9 million bottles of wine each year, with no other pretension than to offer pleasure while respecting the estate's sole rule: "Make good wine at the best price."

Tariquet, the best wine from father to son

Around 1982, the Grassa family set themselves the goal of supplying the French with high-quality white wine. Now celebrating its centenary, the company remains entirely family-owned and cultivates the largest vineyard in France, with a turnover of more than €30 million. The company also employs more than a hundred people and has won numerous awards for excellence. While the story is a beautiful one, for the Grassa family it remains one of many challenges overcome over the years, a passion for wine growing, and a fabulous family adventure.

The family adventure, from its origins to the present day

Located in Eauze in the department of Gers, the Tariquet Estate dates back to the last century. In 1912, to be precise, the patriarchs Artaud père et fils acquired the Tariquet estate and made it their property. Then, a generation later, in the 1940s, it was the turn of their daughter Hélène to take care of the family heritage with her husband Pierre. Then, around 1972, their children Yves and Maïté took over the reins of the business. Around 1982, as the marketing of Armagnac became increasingly difficult, Yves Grassa had the foresight to steer the Tariquet estate towards wine production. Today, it is Yves' children, Rémy and Amin, who are steering the destiny of the family business and trying to breathe new life into it, bringing a touch of modernity.

Tariquet, high-quality wines

White wine, and not just any white wine, has become the specialty of the Domaine du Tariquet. The best known is the " First thrushes ", a sweet wine that is very popular as an aperitif. Then there is the Cuvée Classic, produced from six grape varieties (Gros Manseng, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Chenin, Sauvignon, and Chardonnay), and the "Dernières Grives," which are a delight to the palate of those who appreciate good wine. In addition, the blend of Ugni Blanc and Colombard has given rise to the "Classic" wine, a dry and fruity wine with magnificent intensity, very open to floral and citrus aromas, with beautiful exotic nuances, yet available at a very affordable price. Classic is also known because its production does not use sulfites for the vinification of wines intended for the production of spirits.

Furthermore, Domaine Tariquet is not limited to wine production; it also produces Bas-Armagnacs AOC, Blanche Armagnac, and a liqueur wine. It should be noted that the 12-year-old Pure Folle Armagnac produced by Domaine du Tariquet won the Exceptional Gold Medal and was the winner of the 2018 Trophy in the Armagnac category at the IWSC competition.
