Schieferkopf Estate - Riesling Via Saint-Jacques 2012

Domaine Schieferkopf - Riesling Via Saint-Jacques 2012

The Riesling Via Saint-Jacques reveals itself on the nose with notes of citrus and pineapple, delicately spiced. Marked by a clean acidity on the palate, it displays the characteristics of the schist terroir: a freshness and minerality that linger through to the finish.

About the estate:

Biodynamics always takes a few years to produce results, both in terms of rooting and soil life, and Michel Chapoutier knows this well, having purchased this estate in 2009 with a few friends who are lovers of fine wines. Located in northern Alsace, on a vein of blue schist, the estate is gradually making its mark. The Riesling parcels (Burg, Buehl, and Fels) are beginning to reveal the subtle nuances of their soil.
