Bettane & Desseauve

"The 2011 Fels Riesling brings out musky, bittersweet scents close to iris and narcissus. Apple and citrus are balanced by mineral notes. Like the Buehl, this wine is clear and straightforward. In all likelihood, this wine needs a little time after bottling to comment on it in the best possible conditions. A serious return on investment until at least 2022." Expert opinion

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated 15/20 (Very good wine)

Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))

About the wine:

Good richness on the palate, powerful and concentrated, tight, clean finish.

About the domain :

Biodynamic viticulture always takes a few years to take effect, both in terms of rooting and soil life, and Michel Chapoutier is well aware of this, having bought this estate in 2009 with a few wine-loving friends. Located in northern Alsace, on a vein of blue schist, the estate is gradually making its mark. The Riesling parcels (Burg, Buehl and Fels) are beginning to bring out the subtle nuances of the soil.
